Behdad 'Blockage' proves fruitful in Malaysia

Popular Iranian actor Hamed Behdad has been awarded for ‘Blockage’ at Malaysian film event.

The 2nd edition of Malaysia Golden Global Awards presented the best leading actor prize to Hamed Behdad for the film ‘Blockage’.

The Malaysia International Film Festival was slated for February 25 to March 2, 2018, and the Malaysia Golden Global Awards night will be held on March 3.

In his acceptance speech, the actor dedicated his award to Iran legendary director Abbas Kiarostami who passed away in 2016.

'Blockage' was nominated for six accolades for best direction (Mohsen Qaraei), best script (Saeed Roustaei), best film (Bahman Kamyar), best leading actor (Hamed Behdad), best supporting actress (Giti Qasemi) and best supporting actor (Nader Fallah).

The film chronicles a devastating chaos that occurs to a ferocious, contemptible man who works as a street vendor control officer.

The flick has attended a number of international events so far, winning some awards, including the best film prize at New Currents section of the 22nd Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.

The 2nd Malaysia Golden Global Awards took place at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 3 March 2018.
